Title: The Time Traveler’s Wife
Author: Audrey Niffenegger
Clare first met Henry when she was six years old, and loved him for her whole life. Henry first met Clare when he’s twenty two, and knew her as someone who just came and bursted out the whole story about him that he didn’t know.
Henry was suffering from a genetic disease. His genetic clock is periodically resets and he time travelled involuntarily whenever he got depressed. But Clare loves him and they decided to get married.
At last I finished this book. Well, it is not easy to finish a thick book in English, especially if English is not your mother tongue. After months leaving this book idled, I happened to finish it today, and I actually cried. Don’t laugh, this is a really sad story, you know and Niffenegger wrote her feelings out in this novel and I love it.
Of course, there are some parts where the story goes slow and I didn’t really like, but overall the story was impressive. I couldn’t believe that someone have so much imagination in a novel. In several last chapters, I couldn’t put the book down even just to go to the toilet, because it is too interesting.
Niffenegger brought us the love story which is unusual. It is about a unconditional everlasting love from the wife of the time traveler. The plot was well made, and the story flows with lots of flashbacks (of course because Henry was time travelling!).
How this book made me cry, I think you have to read it yourself, because I am not going to spoil anything here. I recommend this book and rate this 8 out of 10.
